I have always been fascinated with topographic lines and maps. I wanted to experiment with mapping out a piece of landscape and creating something that had a FUI (futuristic user interface) vibe to it - as if you were looking at a holographic small scaled map of some sort. I utilized The French Monkey's Landscape Kit ( https://www.tfmstyle.com/landscape-kit-valley ) to get an incredibly details landscape of mountains to play with and then various techniques to map splines along the surface at set intervals. X-Particles was helpful in casting light -weight particles across the splines which I traced and varied so each line drew on at random rates. OctaneRender made look building types of information passes very easy and enjoyable.
This visual could easily sit within a FUI moment in the scene of a movie or a snowboarding video as the pro boarders are discussing what location they want to drop in on a mountain. Mostly, it was just a fun experiment.
